News: (4-25-2016) Websites (this site, and Abemis.com) are having major overhauls, so please pardon our construction. (4-12-2016) Presented at GLIDE (innovation fund/award) -- went super well !! (3-11-2016) New method developed for controlling edge-node sizing based upon local invarient description. Very powerful! (2-14-2016) New interest in using Meshagons as basis for composite structures. Consulting for SBIR Phase II grant. Looks very promising. (1-10-2016) Working now with GLIDE (Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise) for new robust and affordable microscopy system. Very exciting to work with this group! (3-2-2015) I've finished a new Portfolio page that describes some ongoing projects including 3-D microscopy and Meshing/Meshagons. I'm pretty happy with it. More to come. (2-12-2015) New Mezoscope system has been installed at Techcyte, Inc. Salt lake City, UT (techcyte.com) and is exceeding all expectations! The new modifications to bracket and software are enabling 100x in oil imaging and mosaic tiling which is unprecedented. Details and sample images can be found here (scroll down to Project 1). (11-12) New microscope (mezoscope v.3) design completed. New controllers and v.2 bracket design. We anticipate 10x improvements in precision and control/speed with new USB3.0 imaging and interfaces. (6-10) New lamp/lighting mesh sculptures and tea lights are in the works (thanks for the suggestions). Also new requested 3-D fonts/sculptures. (6-5) Finally, after another year of work, mesh sculptures are available. I have decided to use 'Etsy' for the new store. Also, I am now taking orders for custom meshes (both small and large scales) and for jewelry items in silver and gold. (tcd@tcdoe.com) (5-27) Larger-scale 'meshagons' with organic structure (e.g. the 'Egg' shown left) and wall panels are printable. More to come. Thanks for all the suggestions! (5-24) Dual-Illumination microscopy is enabled (AutoMIcro3D) and sample images added to the gallery. (5-5) Progress has been made for large-scale automated imaging of "thick" non-uniform specimens using the new AutoMicro3D system. It is quite exciting. (4-30) The new scanning microscopy system is now 'live'. Visit Tensortek.com for info on the new 'AutoMicro3D' system. (3-21) A new system for rapid generation of 'meshagons' is programmed. The goal is to enable fast calculation of 'custom' meshagons for applications for 3-D printing (e.g. infill). (9-18) I've been working on 'jewelry' mesh pendants. It's looking good. Here is the new Jewelry Gallery: UNDER RE-Construction. (9-13) View some of the meshes in 3-D interactive on the new 'Sketchfab' page! (9-10) New meshes and renderings added. Also meshes of the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) building in Cleveland. More in the Blog. (8-24) New video clips and stuff in the blog (see here). (8-23) - New site up and running! Feel free to contact me with any suggestions, comments, or interest. (8-23) - The Pi 'meshagon' is finished and printable. See the Sketchfab page for interactive 3-D visualization. (8/20) - Almost done with the new site. Many thanks to all who helped with advice and info. I know, the site still needs lots more work. I'm learning 'on the fly'. (8/12) - Working hard on new website. It's pretty rough but I hope gets the basics. Working on video 'walkthrough' of the meshing process. It was really a tough problem. (8/8) - 3D printed FE meshes finally successfully done. New examples have been received. New site/page being developed to explain the process. Interesting topological problem(s) to say the least... (7/27) - Reddit post 'revealing' the new 3D printed meshes. Lots of positive response!! (hundreds!) MANY THANKS. (7/20) - Got the first meshes back from shapeways... they are awesome. |
